Lara is a PhD trained venture capital investor with expertise in identifying, obtaining, and managing non-dilutive and venture funding to support research, development, and commercialization of life sciences innovations. Formally trained in molecular genetics and cell biology, Lara has also worked at medical device start-ups developing in vitro diagnostics and with researchers and companies developing novel therapeutics, devices, and digital health applications.
During office hours Lara will be happy to answer questions about Invest Nova Scotia and its programs for early-stage innovators and founders, discuss the nuances of venture investment as a funding mechanism, and talk about different aspects of the commercialization pathway for medical technologies.
