Brian Cardinal, MAcc (Tax), CPA Principal – SR&ED
Brian Cardinal is a results-oriented tax professional with broad public practice tax experience on a wide variety of assignments in Canadian and US corporate tax. Dedicated to SR&ED since 2002, Brian has successfully submitted claims totaling more than a billion dollars spanning multiple provinces in disparate industries including Food, Agriculture, IT, Pharmaceutical, Engineering Services, Natural Resources, and Manufacturing. Brian holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree (1996) from the University of Toronto and a Master of Accountancy in Taxation (2001) from Brock University. He was the recipient of the Dr. J.A. and C.P. Dickson scholarship for mathematical statistics in 1992 and the Niagara District Chartered Accountants Association entrance scholarship for the Master of Accountancy program in 2000. Brian obtained his chartered accountant (CA) designation in 2003.
Mohamed Parpia, M.Sc. Director – SR&ED
Mohamed Parpia is a client-focused SR&ED leader with a diverse technical background, adept at preparing claims across various industries, including manufacturing, biotechnology, oil & gas, and engineering (mechanical, civil, electrical, chemical). His adaptability and ability to integrate his scientific expertise have enabled him to effectively lead cross-functional teams, aiming to maximize SR&ED claims efficiently and transparently. Mohamed’s deep understanding of SR&ED concepts fosters a culture of innovation within organizations, and his approachable character allows him to collaborate seamlessly with individuals at all levels, from C-suite executives to shop-floor employees. Mohamed earned his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, with minors in Physics and Mathematics, from Linfield College in 2003. He went on to complete his M.Sc. in Chemistry at Northwestern University in 2006. Before specializing in SR&ED, Mohamed began his career as a Scientist at a nanotechnology company in Illinois, where he was responsible for technology transfer and product development. His work has led to several patent filings and peer-reviewed publications.
