Technical Assistance Program (TAP)

by

Helping life science companies tackle their technical challenges.

Life Sciences Nova Scotia is pleased to offer our Technical Assistance Program (TAP).

The Technical Assistance Program (TAP) has been developed to help Life Sciences Nova Scotia member companies’ access expertise to address unique technical challenges. TAP allows life sciences SMEs to apply for small project funding to engage technical expertise that is not available within their company. The expertise is intended to help overcome an immediate challenge acting as a barrier to commercialization.

The program provides direct financial assistance for approved projects that seek to resolve an issue that is hampering product development and is critical to commercialization. Projects that will be considered include those that engage a subject matter expert to help with:

  •  a science or engineering challenge
  • experiment design
  • prototype development advice
  • other assistance of a technical nature that cannot be solved with in-house expertise
*This program cannot address business, marketing or administrative challenges and is for Life Sciences Nova Scotia members only.

The program offers three tiers of support for engagements with qualified third-party consultants and is designed to accommodate different project scopes and needs:

  • Tier 1: Focuses on smaller projects
  • Tier 2: Covers broader projects
  • Tier 3: Supports large-scale projects,
