RIVERVIEW, NB – The Atlantic Economic Panel today released Bolder Ambitions: Greater Prosperity for All, an independent vision to help Atlantic Canada compete at a new scale, build globally competitive industries and become one of North America’s strongest economic regions by 2035. The report is a call to action for governments, businesses and communities across the region to pursue this ambition together.
Atlantic Canada has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to close the gap between its potential and its performance. The Panel’s own research shows that 65% of Atlantic Canadians are personally optimistic about the region’s economic future. The report is built to turn that optimism into results.
The Panel’s answer is a simple organizing idea: One Atlantic Canada – four distinct provinces, each with its own identity, culture and priorities, working together in areas where collective action and greater scale create more opportunity for all 2.7 million Atlantic Canadians. The report argues that Atlantic Canada’s future success will depend on competing globally for investment, talent, projects and markets, and positions the region as one of the best jurisdictions in the world to build and scale a business.
